For low halogen eco-friendly Nitrophor™ FR series, it works through a synergistic flame retarding system among nitrogen, phosphorus and bromine elements to reach UL 94 V-2. During the combustion,phosphoric component will generate char on the surface of polymer to isolate it from air. Bromine component will produce bromine radicals which will slow down chain radical combustion reaction. Nonflammable gas generated by the nitrogen-containing component can isolates the oxygen; at the same time, the flame retarding synergist can make the tertiary carbon chain in the polymer molecule broken when burning, which reduces the viscosity of materials to lead polymer in melting state drip rapidly. Finally, it will improve the flame retarding performance through heat consumption during this process.
Nitrophor™ FR series have excellent performance in aging-resistance for their composition of flame retarding synergists.
